Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris A summer in full bloom
Nearly a century later, Le Royal Monceau is celebrating the summer of 2026 under equally auspicious skies. With its centennial on the horizon, the palace has chosen Reinventing Summer as its seasonal manifesto. The theme feels especially fitting for a property where contemporary art occupies a central role. From its private cinema and Art District gallery to its bookstore housing more than 700 titles, the guidance of Art Concierge Julie Eugène and a private collection of over 300 works displayed throughout the hotel, creativity is woven into every corner of the guest experience.
Among those works are photographs by Arlette Kotchounian exhibited in Suite 714, dedicated to the legendary Ray Charles, a devoted guest of the hotel and once her companion. Against this backdrop, the property’s artistic interpretation of summer comes as no surprise. Throughout the lobby and terrace, monumental paper sunflowers crafted by a master artisan create a dreamlike environment where guests find themselves immersed in a whimsical world reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. Delicate yet theatrical, the installation draws on surrealist influences while celebrating the season’s most iconic flower.
Like the sunflower itself, the terrace follows the path of the sun throughout the day. Designed around a Japanese-inspired reflecting pool, this lush urban garden would have delighted Epicurus himself. Beneath elegant parasols and amid abundant greenery, the atmosphere is one of effortless tranquility, leisurely lunches and long summer afternoons. Guests can enjoy the Michelin-starred cuisine of Il Carpaccio alongside the celebrated Japanese creations of Nobu Matsuhisa and the seasonal offerings of the Long Bar.
This summer, pastry chef Yazid Ichemrahen has created two refreshing desserts built around freshly spun vanilla ice cream made with Madagascar and Tahitian vanilla. Prepared à la minute using an instant-freezing technique, the ice cream achieves an exceptional creaminess and freshness that unfolds beautifully on the palate.
The Chocolate Coupe pairs the vanilla ice cream with molten chocolate cake, fleur de sel chocolate shortbread, caramelized pecans and a rich 62% dark chocolate sauce. The Strawberry Coupe combines strawberry financier cake, diced Anaïs strawberries, strawberry preserves and a delicate strawberry-water sauce. In both creations, textures and temperatures are layered with precision, delivering indulgence that is both immediate and memorable.
