The Peninsula Paris Under a golden sky

At The Peninsula Paris, summer rises above the city. From the golden-hour glow of its rooftop terrace to the two-Michelin-starred elegance of L’Oiseau Blanc, the palace offers one of the capital’s most breathtaking ways to savor Paris under the evening sky.

Just steps from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées, The Peninsula Paris remains one of the capital’s most spectacular palaces. Housed in a majestic Haussmannian building on Avenue Kléber, the hotel has long cultivated a certain art of Parisian grandeur: elegant without ostentation, historic yet perfectly attuned to its time, international in spirit but unmistakably rooted in the city.

This summer, it is from the top of the hotel that the magic unfolds. Le Rooftop offers one of the most desirable warm-weather settings in Paris: a suspended garden above the city, with sweeping views from the Eiffel Tower to Sacré-Cœur. At golden hour, when the light softens and Paris begins to glow, the terrace becomes one of those rare places where the city seems to stage itself.

The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed. Bright seating by Roche Bobois, blooming rose bushes, a Belle Époque-inspired playlist by Bon Entendeur and the gentle rhythm of evening cocktails create a rooftop experience that feels both polished and effortless. One comes for the view, naturally, but also for the pleasure of lingering — over a drink, a few plates to share, and the feeling of being above the city without ever leaving it.

For this new season, the rooftop experience is enriched by a menu of refined bites imagined by Chef David Bizet and Pastry Chef Anne Coruble, alongside a collection of cocktails created in partnership with The Macallan. The Parisian Breeze, blending coconut, vanilla, lime, pineapple and The Macallan 12-Year-Old Double Cask, sets a fresh and luminous tone. The Amber Sky, deeper and more enveloping, brings together whisky, amaretto and coffee. Both pair beautifully with the kitchen’s seasonal creations, from brioche with Bellota ham and peach-tomato chutney to a flame-grilled lobster roll with sauce américaine, confit tomato and tarragon.

In the same celestial spirit, L’Oiseau Blanc remains one of the great gastronomic destinations of Paris. Crowned with two Michelin stars, the restaurant is led by David Bizet, whose cuisine brings together French terroirs, sustainability and contemporary precision. Beneath its glass canopy, with the Eiffel Tower almost within reach, the table seems to float over the rooftops.

Here, the experience is more ambitious, more gastronomic, but never detached from the essential. David Bizet’s cooking is rooted in nature, seasonality and carefully chosen producers. Herbs from the rooftop garden, honey from the hotel’s own hives, vegetables, fish, butter, seaweed and flowers sourced from committed partners all contribute to a cuisine that feels precise, sincere and deeply French. The desserts by Anne Coruble add another dimension, bold and delicate, with the same attention to season, texture and emotion.

The Peninsula Paris offers a moment of rare elegance above the city, from its spectacular rooftop terrace to L’Oiseau Blanc, its two-Michelin-starred restaurant facing the Eiffel Tower. Perhaps the most beautiful way to see Paris is simply to rise above it — in style.
