The fourth floor of Schiaparelli’s first public salons-boutique presents Story, a new foray into ready-to-wear with an art-meets-fashion edge. Inspired by symbols in Schiaparelli’s collections since 1931, Story #1 plays on pierced hearts, shocking pink and padlocks, with a twist of Man Ray surrealism. Cédric Grolet, voted the world’s best pastry chef, has invented “Clin d’Œil”, a yuzu-infused cake, exclusively for Schiaparelli’s tiny tearoom, while Nicolai Bergman, famed for his boxed bouquets, has created a host of new floral designs. Story’s bookstore is a temple to the label’s founder, whose original furniture and artworks are also on display, alongside an animated film by Kuntzel+Deygas that takes the relationship between Elsa Schiaparelli and Man Ray into the world of dreams.
